Chewing gum is one of the most tricky things to get out of carpet. It can be difficult to remove using conventional carpet cleaning methods, so you will have to try a different approach if you want to remove it. Here is a helpful tip and trick from Avocado Services.
Freezing the Gum
Step 1) You will need some ice, a plastic bag and a spoon or blunt knife to use to scrape with.
Step 2) Fill your bag with some ice and rub it over the gum. You are trying to make it hard and less sticky.
Step 3) Once the gum is freezing cold you should be able to scrape most of it away with your spoon or knife. You will want to work quickly to get it removed before it becomes sticky again.
When using the spoon or knife it is very important not to apply to much pressure or scape to hard as you may damage the fibre of the carpet, so take great care when using this method.
